Neighborhood Development
In January 2005, the City of Kalamazoo revised the future land use plan for our neighborhood. Pertinent documents are linked below. In 2009, the construction of Linden Grove Middle School and Arboretum Drive redefined the anticipated use of a significant portion of the undeveloped property. Adherence to the land use plan for the remaining commercial and residential sections is a matter of concern for the Arcadia Neighborhood Association. City of Kalamazoo and Western Michigan University Foundation officials have been unwilling to address protective measures for designated open space in the remaining areas until future owners/developers are identified.
